Based on the feedback from the Phase 2 Review, I have been sketching various ideas when I can. The current sketches provide a story-board of how the product might be used.
Still 1: the conversation has run dry and the 4th member of the group is still absent.
Still 2: One of the individuals in the group pulls off the case on their Blackberry and unfolds it.
Still 3: The case unfolds and reveals a multi-touch e-ink display. At the top-most edge is a projector that will project a visual representation of what is done on the e-ink display. Buttons on the right side of the display provide options to broadcast your geographic location to others in your network, save the music/audio/visual created with the display and geo-tag it, sync with other Blackberry units of individuals who wish to participate in the collaborate performance, and choose an appropriate visual to suit the actions performed on the display.
Still 4: The multi-touch e-ink display shows a digital version of an instrument (in this case a keyboard, though other instruments like drum pads, or even a DJ turntable could be shown instead depending on what the user would like to play). The music is given a visual representation and projected onto a surface using the included pico-projector.
Still 5: For individuals who are not comfortable with music instruments, they can create music simply by drawing on the display. The drawings are then projected through the pico-projector onto a common surface usd by all individuals involved in the performance.
Still 6: As people collaborate, their projected visuals can overlap and create a layered image that can be saved to that particular location. In future scenarios, passersby would be able to obtain the music and corresponding visual when they walk by the location. In doing so, they can pull apart the layers of the visual to get individual musical parts, and possibly be able to network with the individuals responsible for creating those layers.
